Have you tried to set image.format = 'pjpeg' before saving it?

Hi, thanks for the reply, but how to save the file using the extension
'.jpg' and having the format 'pjpeg' using wand, I would like to avoid
doing a "mv name.pjpeg name.jpg"

when using something like this:

image.format =
'pjpeg'

image.save(filename='out.jpg')

The result is a jpg not a pjpeg.

regards.

How about this:

  image.format = 'pjpeg'
  with open('out.jpg', 'wb') as f:
      image.save(file=f)

Hi, thanks for the prompt reply.

Here is my full code:

8<--
from wand.image import Image
from wand.color import Color

gw = 1280
gh = 720
color = '#000000'

img_file = 'tiger_hd-1920x1080.jpg'

with Image(background=Color('black'), width=gw, height=gh) as bg_image:
    with Image(filename=img_file) as image:
        s = image.size
        print 'w: %s, h: %s' % (s[0], s[1])
        image.transform(resize='1280x720>')
        bg_image.composite(
            image,
            (bg_image.width - image.width) / 2,
            (bg_image.height - image.height) / 2)
        bg_image.format = 'pjpeg'
        with open('out.jpg', 'wb') as f:
            bg_image.save(file=f)

 8<--

but unfortunately now getting an Segmentation fault (core dumped)

any ideas? I am using wand 0.3.4 on FreeBSD 9.1(amd64) python 2.7.5

regards.

First of all, any kind of segmentation faults are completely bugs of Wand.
I will appreciate if you report it to our issue tracker.

I will look into this soon.

Thanks!
