April SydJS meeting

April SydJS meeting

Socket to me, baby!

Like the sound of bi-directional, full-duplex communications channels over
a single Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) socket? How could you NOT?

Then Websockets are for you!

As they say on Wikipedia: The WebSocket protocol makes possible more
interaction between a browser and a web site, facilitating live content and
the creation of real-time interaction.

And we'll be having a full draw card of Websockets live presentations and
real-time interaction.

______________________________________________________________________________

On the night you can look forward to:

Simon Swain:

Now you've got two problems... Plumbing up some live data with Node

Real time Node.js, socket.io, redis and visual basic

Lachlan Hardy:

Windows 8 and Websockets, mate!

Chris Broadfoot:

Big and Beautiful: Data Visualisation with WebSockets and WebGL

And, of course ... more!

______________________________________________________________________________

Join us at 6:00PM on April 18 to be part of the action!

Atlassian are hosting at their head office at 185 Sussex Street. Now that's
legendary support!

Remember it's a free event, but if you're keen to sponsor we're keen to
listen.

Just $799 for SydJS members with the code SYDJS

Day one: HTML5 as a developer tool
