Apparently, it's <listname>-unsubscribe@librelist.com. Why librelist chose the obtuse route, i'm not entirely sure. I wonder how many lists get emails with that title? That'd be an interesting statistic. Anyhoo! Now that I can remove my work email addy from the list, it's back to your regularly scheduled program! Fair enough though; Google Groups is quite annoying in some ways. If the issue is really that bad (is it?), can we just use mailman on a cheap host somewhere? Dreamhost has a managed mailman instance with every account... Sorry, Gil, I was busy drinking. I'm happy to admit librelist is a failed experiment. (although, I don't understand all these unsubscribe emails - I always look up how to unsubscribe from a list...) What I'm still not happy with is having to use Google Groups. For all the reasons I didn't like it originally. Which I'm more than happy to tell any of you about over margaritas at Tio's any Friday afternoon from 4pm but should probably spare the list. Can anybody suggest mailing list software that does not suck? According to the basecamp breeze comparison, you need to have a yahoo account. You do not need a google account for google groups, but you can only use the email system (can't browse the archives), and I suspect someone else may have to add you… So Lachlan, I take it you consider mailman as software that sucks? At least it works and allows self-management. I've never come across any other alternatives, sucky or not. Write one in node? On Friday, 15 March 2013 at 2:24 PM, Geoffrey Dunn wrote: > Yahoo groups. Librelist sucks for which reasons? What do we need in a list? - allow registration somehow -via form or emIling the list - forward mails sent to the list to the group - kill spam - allow unsubscribe by replying unsubscribe - what else? Which of these does librelist not do well enough and what is a better alternative? "forward mails sent to the list to the group" Last month the "remember SydJS is on tomorrow" emails didn't come through until 2 days later. Not the first time there's been big delays on this low-traffic list. On 15/03/2013, at 3:15 PM, Adam A <hitsthings@gmail.com> wrote: > Librelist sucks for which reasons?
