I don't, and a response to

http://www.reddit.com/r/ruby/comments/1f3uhy/shoes_is_sooooo_hard_no_not_really_but/
would be nice, if anyone does have one.

Seems the guy went on to StackOverflow after all

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/16765418/ruby-shoes-para-cursor-method

I also don't have Reddit, would be nice to point out at least that the
mailing list is actually working.

Maybe the guy is a bit stubborn (what with the "I don't like StackOverflow"
thing), but I would personally say that shoes isn't (or wasn't) very
straightforward for beginners.
For me, it was at first the "_why dropped the development, now what?", then
"what the hell is green shoes", onward to "oh cool, someone picked it up! I
hope this gets fixed soon" to "oh god, why so many colours".

I used shoes in some small, personal apps, but always ended up dropping the
projects because some issue would kill my "write some code for fun, after
work" drive. And now my main reason to use shoes seems to be going away,
that is, ditch Java for GUI apps.

Disclaimer: I haven't used shoes in a while already, so my issues might
have been all fixed and I'm just whining in vain.

PS. Why did he complain about the list being inactive? Are there some
other, outdated references to "shoes mailing list"?

Not sure about the outdated references to the mailing list. I found
Librelist confusing at first as well though. It just didn't occur to me
that it was actually that simple. Also the generic Librelist info says to
mail to "list@librelist.org", it doesn't really spell out that you should
replace "list" with the list name. Might seem obvious but I'm sure it has
confused someone.

Khristian, that's partially because we don't want to advertise a lot
about Shoes until 4 is good to go, since 3 is unmaintained and buggy.

You're totally right, and once we have a 4 release, we'll be working
hard to fixing it.

There is an old Goolge Group that theoretically could have been seen.
