I just got this message from Google. :-( Oh well, there's still JRuby. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Thank you for submitting "Team Shoes" organization application to Google Summer of Code 2013. Unfortunately, we were unable to accept your organization's application at this time. Every year we receive many more applications than we are able to accommodate, and we would encourage you to reapply for future instances of the program. If you would like some general feedback on why your organization was not accepted, please consider attending the IRC meeting in #gsoc on Freenode on Friday, April 19, 2013 at 16:00 UTC. Best regards, Google Open Source Programs -- Davor Babic davor@davor.se
Hi everyone, just wanted to know if someone of us decided to register as a mentor? (http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/homepage/google/gsoc2013 bottom of the page) JRuby would be happy to have a mentor for shoes4 I think and otherwise we have some proficiency with JRuby. Rails also got a place, so yeah, more mentors = more fun for everyone :-) Cheers, Tobi On 04/08/2013 08:51 PM, Davor Babic wrote: > I just got this message from Google. :-( > > Oh well, there's still JRuby. > > ------------------------------------------------------------------ > Thank you for submitting "Team Shoes" organization application to Google > Summer of Code 2013. Too bad but we will be back and stronger next year. Thank you everyone for participating! I believe attending that meeting would be good, I'll see if I can make it. It's an opportunity to grow :)
I read this post on ruby-talk ML just now. Yay! :-D JRuby's Google Summer of Code 2013! -- Shoooooes! http://blade.nagaokaut.ac.jp/cgi-bin/scat.rb/ruby/ruby-talk/406649 ashbb
:D tweeted from the shoes account.
Charles also asked us on Twitter
(https://twitter.com/headius/status/321357421220089857) to mentor and
supply ideas/infos on the jruby gsoc wiki:
https://github.com/jruby/jruby/wiki/Google-Summer-of-Code-2013
I will do so and also probably apply as a student for jruby with shoes.
Shoes on!
