shoes4 slot position

hey folks,

  not sure if i should post this here, or in the shoes4 github issues - but
i figured i'd start here before making a mess of the issues with what is
possibly a dumb question :)

  it seems that with shoes4 the :top and :left attributes of a slot do not
actually move the slot within the main app window - for example:

Shoes.app do
  s = stack top: 100, width: 50, height: 50 do
background blue
end

  p s.top  ##  => 100
end

  is this just not implemented yet? i know there's still a lot to be done,
and i'm not trying to hassle anyone!

No worries--no dumb questions here :)

Shoes 4 should work just like Shoes 3, almost always. We have changed a
few things (some of the color handling comes to mind), but in general, if
something that works in Shoes 3 doesn't work in shoes 4, it's a bug.

It's great to post these as issues, because sometimes a potential
contributor needs a place to start. Concrete bugs and missing features are
great for that.

Cheers!

I had a look at the code, and this is definitely not implemented at
the moment. So yes, please go ahead and create an issue.

As far as I understood, the only road map/todo list there is at the
moment are the Github issues. The "spec" is Red Shoes + the manual :-)

No worries, Shoes benefits a lot from this kind of feedback.

Cheers,
Arne

@Eric, @Arne -

  thanks - i'll post it over on github

  i hope to be able to contribute at some point too - still learning and
getting my head around all of it. working *with* shoes and working *on*
shoes are two very different animals! i can do a mean two-step, but i'm
not much of a cobbler yet ;)

  shoes on,
