close - Shoes4

Hi all,

I've been building a Shoes3 app for the last few months and now have a
simple version that works (yay!). With that under my belt my next plan is
to get it to run in Shoes4. I've been able to learn/resolve most of the
differences myself, but not all.

Is there a Shoes4 guide anywhere, or should I just bug y'all with every
question that comes up?

For example, it looks like *close* isn't a recognized method for apps any
more. How do I close a window that I've popped up?

Thanks everyone!

Hi there,

shoes4 is not ready yet. We are in a pre alpha stage so some methods
might be missing. The correct way to go about this is to check if there
is already an issue for that and if there isn't report a new issue.
Best with a link to the manual.

Most of the shoes4 development talk happens in the shoes4 issues.

Shoes4 aims at being mostly backwards compliant with shoes3 so
differing behavior is mostly considered a bug. However we took the
liberty of fixing some inconsistencies. Plus gems with C-extensions can
no longer be used as we moved to JRuby which does not support C-exts
anymore.

I'll go ahead and file a new issue for the close method.

Cheers,
Tobi
