Hi,
I'm new to shoes... and programming in general. I made a timer in shoes
which works well. It is able to save the timed amount to a log file for
the users reference. It also uses a second txt file to keep a tally of the
overall time spent over all the sessions.
I used the packager and my exe doesn't work, I just get a blank box.
However, if I package the entire folder (including my txt files) it seems
to work as intended, with one exception: the txt files seem to be included
in the exe and as such the user can't access his log file.
What am I doing wrong? Is there a way around this?

Evan,

The "packager" has some bugs (serious bugs to me and not solvable by
me) It also means different things to different people. Since you said
exe, I'm assuming you are using Windows to package up your script as an
exe for other Windows users. That's about the only case that works.

When the new exe is executed, the current directory for new/old files
may not be where you expect it to be. That may not be the problem here
but is something to remember if you create files that users want to look
at.

It would help if you provided some more details about that blank box you
got when packaging just the script. What OS are you using to do the
packaging? Typically, when packaging a directory you would remove all
files that you don't want the users to have on their system before doing
the packaging.
