Yet Another Remailer List

Yet Another Remailer List

A few people, including Lance Cottrell, popped up on the
mixmaster-devel list in the past few days. That list had seen 1 post
in about two years, but I subscribed just for completeness and it paid
off.

The fragmentation between mixmaster-devel, remailer@libre,
mixminion-it, p2p-hackers, twitter, and remops is frustrating - I try
to keep track of as many as I can, but I hate to see people not get a
complete picture of discussions or interest.

I would encourage everyone on this list to subscribe to at least
mixmaster-devel [1] and remops [2], and consider shuttering this one
as it's the newest and (probably) least-populated. Both those lists
are ultra-low-volume (under a dozen post in the last year).

[2] a Mailman located at remops@lists.mixmin.net You should be able
to subscribe with an email to remops-join@lists.mixmin.net as the web
interface is down.

I have to respectfully disagree on the list fragmentation. I think it
might be a good idea. The remops list exists for current remailer
operators. I see this as good idea as remailer admins (myself for a
period of time) may not be interested in writing code or other
development issues. The mixminion-it and mixmaster-devel lists should
exist for the respective development communities. I think what we need
more is a space which lists the individual lists and provides a
description on who should subscribe to which list(s).

Reading through the thread on mixmaster-devel makes me feel much better
with Lance and Marco joining the fray. Thanks for the update.
