Hey guys,
I saw at your Website, that you like to have a cheat sheet with
different cipher modes and what they are good for. Is this request still
pending?

All the best

Sure. We have a new policy that any guides or walkthroughs need to go
through peer review before being published; and any guide on cipher
modes should cover the strengths, weaknesses, and common
implementation mistakes of the modes.

I imagine a good guide would cover at least ECB, CBC, CTR, XTS, and
GCM; with mentions about padding oracle attacks, the important of
nonces, and protecting data with a MAC and when/what data to apply the
mac over.

But yea, we're absolutely interested, and anything written could be
published elsewhere as long as we have the ability to update it
wiki-style.

Is there a possibility to make nice mathematical formatting in this
markdown-stuff?
Embedding Latex would be nice.

All the best

For now, no. We could look into integrating MathJax
http://www.mathjax.org/, but that would be down the road. I'd do your
best without it.
