I decided to take a dive into getting eclim installed on my system. This is
a tool that allows you to fire up an eclipse instance (even headless) and
connect to it with your favourite text editor (such as Vim or emacs). The
installation is pretty straightfoward, and gives you all of that eclipse
power while allowing you to work in your editor of choice.
Personally, my motivation for this was that the emacs keybindings in eclipse
felt a bit half-baked. And from what I've seen there's no vi bindings at
all, which is rather unfortunate.
