Heroku hosting and site speed

Heroku hosting and site speed

I've noticed that my Heroku-hosted Nesta site is generally quite slow, with
some static assets taking an amazingly long time to load. I'm currently
using free hosting but will need to ramp up the speed of the site soon.
Those of you using Nesta on Heroku for business: any particular hosting
plan or number of dynos you can recommend?

Thanks,
James

I wouldn't have thought you'd need more dynos. What's the URL?

Things I'd look at straight away would be how many assets you've got (CSS,
images, etc) and how many concurrent connections your dyno can support.
You can use a server like unicorn (for example) to support multiple
concurrent connections in one dyno.

Then I'd look at caching, with Rack::Cache.

The file that was slow to load had a script in it that caused the delay, as
I've just found out - so that's sorted out.

Sounds just like what I need. Thanks!
