daily digest mode?

daily digest mode?

wondering if there is a way to receive a digest (daily), vs. individual emails?

i ask mainly because we recently switched over to lamson at pyjs.org
(from google groups), and some users are well... complaining :-)

i believe we are using the librelist code as a template. question is
relevant for anyone on librelist as well; didn't see the answer
anywhere.

Nope, they should get with the future and learn to sort their mail. :-)

Digest mode is really annoying. Typically people use it instead of
checking the archives to lurk on a list. For that we have archives now
so there's no point. The other 1% of idiots actually *reply* with a
digest, which makes conversation threads break, confuses everyone else,
and just screws up the general feel of the list. It's absolutely
retarded given the amount of email infrastructure available for sorting
and categorizing email in the client.

If you want to implement it, it's not too hard, just annoying. You'd
have to divide people up by who gets digest or not. Then, have a cron
that runs daily and sends the digest to people. To do the digest just
look in the archive maildir for that day, pack up the mails, send them
on. Very easy.
