RFC822.SIZE bug?

RFC822.SIZE bug?

From:
Davide Gullo

Hi,
anybody knows an issue like this:

** 22136 FETCH (X-GM-MSGID 1384367682512034576 UID 77480 RFC822.SIZE 0
RFC822 {11012}*

*Delivered-To: jazzo72@gmail.com*

*....*

*....*

*....*

)

TAG21 OK Success

*
*

*
*
This a part of the response from Gmail Imap server.
*Look at the RFC822.SIZE, is 0!*
But it is not really zero because then it gives me the RFC822 complete and
it is 11012 bytes.

Could be a Gmail/Imap bug?

HI Matt,
unfortunately I didn't.
It is a very strange bug but I'm sure it exists.
Temporarily I created a fix in my MailCore

fork<https://github.com/Jazzo/MailCore/commit/40634ad441927cdce7fd7e5410d99511083cde2d>to
get size directly from RFC822 real size, not by RFC822.SIZE.

I'm also deeply investigating on it asking more information to some users
that use my App, finally I wrote a post about
it<http://www.m4ss.net/2013/04/18/gmail-imap-rfc822-size-fail-zero/>
.

I keep you informed.

Regards,
Davide

You should try posting to the IMAP Protocol mailing list:

  http://www.washington.edu/imap/lists/imap-protocol.html

Brandon Long from Google posts there.
