Clean ups

Clean ups

From:

I have rediscovered the fantastic external/expanded classes that zen
(Frederic Merizen if I am correct) originally wrote for SmartEiffel.
Being curious how it has been implemented in the parser I discovered

   1. it still support an 'external "SmartEiffel"' which isn't used
anymore. I'm going to remove it.
   2. it seems to me that src/smarteiffel/commands/install.e is not used at
   all. Am I right?
   3. in many places of various tools (compiler....) the sources makes some
references to an enventual SmartEiffel enviromental variable, which is not
used anymore AFAICS. In fact even the "se --environment" does not refers
   to such a envvar.
   4. there are in the sources some references to Amiga, Elate, Dos, OS/2,
VMS.... aren't they "a little legacy"?
   5. our friend from the *BSD camps will not like this line in install.sh
   jobs: $((2 * $(grep '^processor' /proc/cpuinfo|wc -l)))

Let's say I would like to clean all those things

(Oops, I hit ctrl-enter instead of shift-enter....) Isn't it a BASHism and
a Linux-ism?

Let's say I would like to clean all those things... trying to recompile all
the tools in target/bin is a good enought test for those changes? AFAIK we
are almost a Linux-only project nowadays, aren't we?

Happy hacking

Certainly. I don't know the BSD equivalent.

From April 8th onwards, I'll have some time on my hands, so I'd like to
give it a go (or a try?). Let's just see what happens.

It seems I will have to use my Vista virtual machine also for testing ...
in fact in Debian we have mingw32 and mingw-w64
Of course Windows is important....
