Hi,

I'm trying to install leiningen on Ubuntu 14.04. Here is what I did:

- Downloaded bash script from
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/technomancy/leiningen/stable/bin/lein as
mentioned on the Leiningen website.

- Put it on my $PATH

- Run it and it installed leiningen-2.5.0-standalone.jar in
~/.lein/self-installs/

- After that, I tried to create a new clojure project which gave me
following error

$ lein new app clojure-noob
Downloading Leiningen to
/home/cljuser/.lein/self-installs/leiningen-2.5.1-SNAPSHOT-standalone.jar

It's possible your HTTP client's certificate store does not have the
correct certificate authority needed. This is often caused by an
out-of-date version of libssl. It's also possible that you're behind a
firewall and haven't set HTTP_PROXY and HTTPS_PROXY.

Can anyone help me to figure out what's wrong here.

Thanks,
Pankaj Sharma

It looks like you're using 2.5.1-SNAPSHOT, which is not the file at the
URL above. Try downloading the file from that URL instead.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I'm not doing anything extra for downloading the file. The lein.sh script
is trying to download the jar file.

I just followed the steps mentioned here http://leiningen.org/#install.

Moreover I typed the url

https://github.com/technomancy/leiningen/releases/download/2.5.1-SNAPSHOT/leiningen-2.5.1-SNAPSHOT-standalone.jar
in browser and receive HTTP 404 - Page not found error.

Thanks,
Pankaj

Try downloading the lein script again. It looks like you've somehow managed
to get the script from the master branch, rather than the stable one.

This means that the script is looking for verison 2.5.1-SNAPSHOT, when the
latest released version is 2.5.0.
