First Meeting

First Meeting

If you haven't heard on the twitter feed our first meeting is the First
Tuesday of March, that's March 2nd. Kurtis Rainbolt-Greene (Founder) will be
showing a short and simple presentation on the Ruby programming language to
get things rolling.

Other topics will include, but aren't limited to:

* Google Buzz
* Web frameworks
* Functional Languages
* Meeting times
* Corporate Sponsorship
* And more

I'm afraid I'll have to miss the first meeting but I'd love to attend the 
next one. I'm an engineer at Palm so I could to a quick intro to building 
mobile apps with HTML, CSS & JavaScript.

Oh! That's too bad.

Still, yes, that's great that you want to talk about mobile
applications! It's a hot and trendy topic these days and great for
budding hackers. Send me some info and we can work on a small
presentation/lightening talk.

Well, I'm the developer advocate for Palm Inc, meaning it's my job to get 
people excited about building apps for Palm's app store.  I only just 
started so I'm still learning the platform and APIs. Previously I worked 
for Sun on Java and JavaFX, so I can talk about those as well if anyone's 
interested. Though I work for companies in Silicon Valley, I live here in 
Eugene.
