This is more for Bill's input as we have been discussion here at MT in
our slack channel for gamenight, but is there interest in maybe trying
some RPG play during our meetups?

More specifically trying the Star Wars universe RPG from FFG or maybe
even Pathfinder?

I don't know why I hang around on this list... but I'm just curious...
have you guys tried Imperial Assault?

This thread kind of diverged a bit, but if Bill and Brian show interest I
will pick up the initial Edge of the Empire beginner set and we can take a
crack. If not, no worries either, I know we have a backlog of a few games
we still haven't played as well as others we all would gladly replay as
well.

If everyone likes it there are a few other free scenarios online in
addition to the full core rulebook.

Since I'm already familiar with most of the material for this RPG (and of
course Star Wars lore) I'll gladly serve as GM. I'd recommend for
everyone else as PCs to not read up any of the scenarios available ahead
of time to not spoil anything in gameplay sessions. On Mar 10, 2015 9:09

I'm willing to play any game that you'd guys like to try out.

Sorry for the delay in responding, my father-in-law passed away suddenly
last week and things have been a bit hectic around here. We can still get
together this Thursday but, with everything going on this week, I was
wondering if we could do it at another location just for February. If
nobody has enough space we might be able to meet at Battleground Games (25
Taunton St, Plainville, MA 02762).

Let me know.

Hey Bill,

So sorry to hear about your father-in-law.  For sure we will rework this
month's meetup or postpone if needed.

Will follow-up on the list when worked out.

Hope you and your wife and daughter are doing OK.

Don't think so.  No location was secured, Aaron can't make it regardless, so
I think we are needing to postpone.

Not yet, but it's on my list to buy. I've never painted models before,
and that is why I haven't bought it yet. I know if/when I buy it I'm
going to want to get the models painted.

Have you played it (or Descent before it)?

No, I've never played any of those dungeon crawler games, but I've always
wanted to. Privateer Press (who make Warmachine) is coming with their own
game of that style, set in the Iron Kingdoms. I might play that when it
comes out.

The D6 generation guys consider Imperial Assault to be the most "evolved"
version of Descent yet...

No, the Imperial Assaults just come in basic gray. They aren't primed or
anything even, just the resin bare models.

I've only heard lots of love for the game tho. Especially since it has
both long-running campaign mode as well as a skirmish mode of gameplay.

Craig, if you want to paint them fast, get a cheap airbrush. With some
rudimentary techniques you will save lots of time. I can imagine that in
the star wars universe, "prime white, airbrush wash blue-black, airbrush
white on top, touch up from there" would be pretty common
