memory exhausted on install and everything is required

memory exhausted on install and everything is required

I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction here. I was so
excited to install Friendica on a test site and try and make it work. I
run a small hosting company, and I was hoping to offer support for this
software to my friends and to my customers. But so far, my experience
has only resulted in frustration.

I run cPanel/WHM, and have all of the required modules compiled using
EasyApache (modcrypt, curlSSL, mysqli, mbstring, GD, etc...). And yet,
in the rare moments when I get the index.php to load either from the
command line or from the web interface, I see a "(required)" pretty much
next to every single item, which seems to indicate that I don't have any
requirements at all met.

Additionally, the index.php is mostly just freezing up, and occasionally
telling me that it has exhausted memory. I've bumped the PHP setting up
to 512MB and I'm still getting memory exhausted errors in the error_log.

   libCurl (required)
   GD (required)
   OpenSSL (required)
   mysqli (required)
   mb_string (required)

I did manage to get the login screen to display by manually creating the
.htconfig.php file and importing the database.sql file into the manually
created database. However, I can't find a default administrative login
anywhere, which I felt uncomfortable leaving it up and running without
knowing how to set an admin username/password and secure the installation.

Anyone have ideas for how I might get the software installed?

I should point out that I'm running CloudLinux. This puts all apache
processes into their own space to throttle the CPU and Memory they can
use. They are topped at 1GB of memory and 1 full CPU core at the moment.

Thanks in advance for any pointers
Richard

I don't know ANYTHING about most of your inquiry BUT the first
registration will be the admin. You have to register and then you're admin.

There is no default admin account. You set the email address of the
admin in the .htconfig.php file and the account matching that address
is the admin account.

	$a->config['admin_email'] = 'someone@example.com';

Thanks Tobias and to John for answering this particular question for
me. I did get an install up and running using this information, though
it was not a process I could ever expect my friends or customers to be
able to do on my hosting platform without assistance and MUCH guidance.

I have many more questions and discussions I'd like to have, but I'm
not sure this is the right forum for it. I'm going to send one more
new email/thread to this list on the topic of Friendica communication
and adoption.

There is a support forum at

	https://helpers.pyxis.uberspace.de/profile/helpers

and a developers forum at

	https://friendika.openmindspace.org/profile/friendicadevelopers

within the ~friendica network where we discuss stuff within the network.

Hi Richard,

Yes, as Tobias indicated, the best place to discuss support and
development issues is within the Friendica network itself. That's where
most of the active people hang out.

As a start, either add those forums from your own Friendica hub, or
create an account at one of the public Friendica sites, and add those
forums, while you're debugging your own initial install.

Thank you h0ost and Tobias for your recommendations on support.

It would seem that I'm at a bit of impasse, at least when it comes to
assisting my friends in getting online with Friendica. This, based on
what Michael Vogel stated about the state of the Facebook addons. I
definitely need to have the Facebook connection working before any of
them would make the jump with me. Well, at least in the way I had
originally envisioned convincing my friends it was a worthwhile effort
on their part.

I wonder if someone has a time-frame on redeveloping the fbsync addon?
Or, is anyone working on it at all? Perhaps a question for me to move
over the developers forum. :-)

Thanks
Richard
