Second hangout installments!

Second hangout installments!

From:

Howdy foray-ers,

It's time for the next installment of Google Hangouts. The first were so
much fun we want to do it again. (By the way, the notes from our first
sessions have been uploaded to the site[1]). The time slots we picked last
time were actually pretty good so we've just moved the days to the
weekend. You don't need to be invited so just click the link and say
you're going.

Remember, timezones are hard so make sure to check your local time! There
are links in the description of each event to help.

Hangout #4: https://plus.google.com/u/2/events/cqo2dmv2dfb8u6fkvqlvd2835ak
(Sunday, May 26, 04:00 GMT)

Hangout #5: https://plus.google.com/u/2/events/cobrdfsienjcgvd5s766o1b7rok
(Sunday, May 26, 14:00 GMT)

Hangout #6: https://plus.google.com/u/2/events/c5jrbspdj6fpiclajfgnhcef1gk
(Sunday, May 26, 20:00 GMT)

You can see all of our events here:

See you there,

REMINDER Fw: Second hangout installments!

Happy weekend to you!

As a reminder, Hangout #4 starts in just over 2 hours.

We had talked about making these "On Air" and that would be fun except you
can't change an event once you've selected Hangout. Google has such
strange limitations on things sometimes. I don't want to create a new
event and have people miss out because of new URLs and all that.

So, we'll make sure to keep notes again and discuss it on the list.

Hope to see you there!

Don

I'm sorry I'm gonna miss it :(
Maybe you can send an email later with a brief summary? :)

BAH! I'll take a look a little later. Thanks for letting me know.

So, it looks like you can't set a Hangout to be non-invite. If you make it
an on-air hangout and then make it open you run the risk of having a bunch
of randoms show up and max out the 10 person quota for the video chat.
(Text chat is 75 max).

Oh the things you learn on the Internet!

Hi there,

So. I was wrong (Surprise!). You DO need to be invited to these hangouts.
If you want to attend and haven't requested an invitation, please do so
for hangouts #5 and #6.

#4 was fantastic, clocking in at just about 2 hours. WOW. As I'm getting
ready to sleep until the next hangout, please consider this your reminder.

Anyway, sorry for any confusion regarding the operation of the Google
Hangout(s) or whatever they're called. I shouldn't be in charge of
anything …

See you on the INTERNET.

Don
