Anonymous web based chat without registered users

We are trying to replace candy chat at work. We have it configured where
users go to a specific page, type in a nick name and are automatically
pushed into a specific chat room.

Can I do the same with Converse.js?

Steps.
User clicks a link or sees a chat login inside an iframe
User enters his/her nickname (not registered on the server)
User clicks login and enters into a pre-configured chat room (users does
not see a list of chat rooms).

Yes, but you shouldn't need to use an iframe. Converse.js is meant to
unobtrusively overlay your existing website and maintain the chat session
across page reloads.

Converse.js supports the anonymous login usecase, but it doesn't currently
support choosing a chat room nick before logging in. It also doesn't
support preconfiguring a chat room for auto-join upon login.

It could definitely be customized or expanded to do these things, but it
currently doesn't provide them out of the box.

Specifically the auto-join feature has been asked for a few times and is
something I'd be interested in adding, by way of adding support for XMPP
Bookmarks (XEP-0048).
