Hi
This is Shradha
I am using Converse.js as UI and Openfire as server. I am able to login but
when I try to add a contact, giving my Gmail id or any other user ids(users
which i have created in openfire server), it's not working.
I have written code like this:
converse.initialize({
        allow_otr: true,
        auto_list_rooms: false,
        bosh_service_url: 'http://localhost:7070/http-bind/',
        i18n: locales['en'],
        keepalive: true,
        message_carbons: true,
        play_sounds: true,
        prebind: false,
        show_controlbox_by_default: true,
        xhr_user_search: false,
        allow_muc:false,
       use_vcards:true
    });
Same thing I tried with spark, add a contact worked.
is there something wrong I am doing

Please help me for this

Thanks in Advance
Shradha

Hi Shradha

You can only add contacts from other XMPP services if they support federation.

Google stopped supporting federation, so you cannot add a google account as a
contact to a non-google account.

Rather create two accounts on your Openfire server and see if they can add each
other as contacts.

If they can't, please explain in detail why not. For example, does the contact
request not appear? Or does it appear but when you click "accept" nothing
happens? Merely saying "it's not working" is not very helpful.
