Are file deletions from mounted backups safe?

Are file deletions from mounted backups safe?

Hello,

I was wondering if it is ok to mount a backup, and then remove some
files accidentally thrown in at backup time. In other words: are
mounted backups expected to be read-only or not?

Thanks,

No, all Attic archives are read only. Your best option is to create a
new archive with the correct --exclude options and then delete the old
one. This should be quick since all the file data should already be in
the repository.
