ZING. This is actually a job announcement :)

===
Front end / JavaScript lead
===
Join an R&D style team who prototype ideas and turn them into well known
web applications.

Your first assignment will be to create a series of brain training games.
It's a front end heavy app where you'll use backbone.js, HTML5 and whatever
else you think is appropriate.

This is a well known organisation, not a digital agency. There's no rushed
client work. Instead, you're expected to build products properly while
working 37.5 hours per week.

Flexible hours are available. If you're a late starter, that's fine. Or you
can arrive early and leave early enough to collect kids from school, as
long as they're your kids.

The role:
-----
Being the lead front end developer, it's up to you to choose the most
suitable technologies for the problem at hand. Ever wanted to be paid to
try new JavaScript frameworks? Here's your chance.

You're the first person in this role and will get to build this team around
you over time.

You will be working alongside some awesome engineers who mostly come from a
Ruby on Rails background. They also know quite a bit about JavaScript and
CoffeeScript so will respect the work you do. You don't need Ruby
knowledge, but naturally that would be great.

Speaking of knowledge:
-----
It's expected you have mastered HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Backbone.js is
currently in use so MVC JavaScript framework experience is beneficial. They
use Git for source control.

The right person may or may not currently be a front end technical lead.
Sure, leadership experience helps but an outstanding senior developer with
the right personality will do just fine. We want you to have a say in who
joins your new front end team so there won't be any direct reports on day
one.

The offer:
-----
Won't get specific on the mailinglist, but it's a senior role with a
package in the six figures.

Find out more:
-----
Get in touch with me BEFORE SydJS as the role will probably be shortlisted
by the time we next meet: steve@lookahead.com.au

Not the role for you?
------
Do your friend a solid by referring them. If they get the role, you'll earn
an iPad in the process: http://lookahead.com.au/refer

Thank you for reading this far :)

Shame there's not much coming out though except subscribes.

So, here's my $0.05 ;)
Shameless but entirely relevant self promotion..

Happener are recruiting for a range of really interesting FE/JS focused
roles across Sydney at the moment. Mainly permanent opportunities.
So if you know your JS (not just jQuery) and want to be working with the
latest in CSS3 and HTML5 too, we should probably have a chat.

Luke Fromhold and I will be along this evening, so feel free to corner us
for a quiet chat about you and your career.

http://enrol.happener.com if you aren't going to make it.

See you tonight.

Maybe if the list was being flooded with Job ads it would be worth it. As
it stands the list gets activity once a month.

Shouldn't do.

According to the site:
"You also subscribe to a list by simply sending your first message to
list@librelist.com. That’s it. It ditches your original message and
sends you a confirmation you reply to. No signup or web forms
involved."

So in our case, that would be sydjs@librelist.com.

Maybe Julio was already subscribed?
