Excellent, ashbb, it's good to see people are experimenting with shoes and
hacking their own implementations :)
(Unrelated) While I'm not against shoes being in qt, I'm not sure it makes
sense for shoes to rely on software licensed by a cell phone maker.
At any rate, I am looking forward to trying this out later, and will keep a
close eye on development

Hi all,
At last, I could compile ruby-gtk2 package and rcairo from source code with
ruby 1.9.2 on my Windows 7 laptop.
Look at a tiny note:

Although I'm not sure this patch is reasonable. :-P
Now, the same test code works fine both on Linux and Windows. ;-)
Cheers,
ashbb

Why would that matter?

There's some concern about licensing, especially since I believe Shoes is
BSD licensed. I'm not sure whether this conflicts with the GPL, but both the
LGPL and GPL are pretty restrictive licenses as far as the open-source ones
go.

The LGPL is specifically designed so that you can link to it, and not
get infected. We're absolutely fine.

Mmk. Just wanted to make sure that was all clear.
