Hi Windows Vista users, Both Shoes and Hackety Hack have the screen flickering problem in Vista. I googled and read lots of articles about that. But I couldn't find any solutions until yesterday. The following is not a solution but an information. ;-) - control panel -> desktop customize -> color combination # This may not be correct, because I used Vista in Japanese. :-P select something EXCEPT `Windows Aero` Then both Shoes and Hackety Hack will work without flickering as same as Windows XP. I confirmed with Windows Vista. If you have Windows Vista or 7, please confirm and let me know. Regards, ashbb
Awesome! Good lead! One of my friends is attempting to compile Shoes under Windows 7. He worked on it a few hours yesterday, but Ruby 1.9.1 was giving him lots of problems... The flickering issue as well as the blue bar issue on OSX are the two big things we need to fix before 3.0 is ready... Has your Win7 friend tried the pre-compiled Ruby 1.9.1-p378<http://rubyforge.org/frs/download.php/71078/rubyinstaller-1.9.1-p378.exe>from rubyinstaller.org?
