Hi, I'm having problems with my Nexus One on a WPA/WPA2 WiFi network. I remember some folks talking about this being a common issue. Has anyone managed to figure out a work around? Hey James, I know Marc Meszaros was having an issue with WPA/WPA2 wifi. If I remember correctly, it was something to do with his router. He probably has more info about it that I do. You are correct. I have problems with the AT&T version of the Nexus One. At first it was my phone. So I called HTC and got a new one. I then switched the stock firmware on my router (Linksys WRT610N) to use dd-wrt. I still had the same problem. I then proceeded to get a new router (Netgear WNDR3700). I still had problems, so I flashed that router with dd-wrt. Still no fix. The worst part is that before I got the new router and the new Nexus One from HTC, I had a friend come over with his T-Mobile Nexus One to try on my network. It worked without a problem. I also went to his house and it seemed to work fine. The only differences between all of these tests were: 1) I have an AT&T Nexus One and he had a T-Mobile (shouldn't matter only the 3G chip/antenna is different, not the WiFi) 2) he had a WRT54G router wich is a single band 2.4GHz router whilst both of my routers are dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz (for wireless N) I am thinking about calling HTC again and trying to get them to swap my AT&T phone for a T-Mobile one. For those that care, I figured out the problem.
As Marc suspected, it looks like the combination of my new wireless router
and NexusOne are to blame. This happens even if mixed "bgn" support is
disabled ("bg" only). No issues when used with my WRT54G.
I don't know what causes the problem, but it can at least be avoided.
