It looks like the subscriber went on vacation, but his autoresponder isn't setup correctly and responds to every single message posted to the "raindrops" list so far... Subscriber is: fernando.jr@edinumen.es Is bounce detection supposed to check/notice this? -- Eric Wong

Done. He's blocked now, and I'll email and say why. Autoresponders are shit. There's supposed to be a protocol that lets you know it's an autoresponder, but Outlook and others never follow it. I may just say if you say "out of office" then your email is dropped. -- Zed A. Shaw http://zedshaw.com/

"out of office" dropped? I like it! If it is not, go to http://example.com/not-autoresponder/12345 to unblock its delivery" Obviously, it would get funny when the autoresponder would reply to that reply of the autoresponder of that reply... until filling the account quota. They would deserve that (either them or the autoresponder authors) but it may be preferable to take the answer as "yes-i-am-an-autoresponder" if a reply to that email is received. :)

The first one would be enough. It's not that hard, since there's tons of headers that indicate a message comes from a mailing list, but for some reason they miss it. It's this way on mailman and other mailing list software too. It's just one of those things that only works if the receiver (autoresponder) does it right, and since they don't we're kind of screwed. -- Zed A. Shaw http://zedshaw.com/
