hi,
how do i continue a discussion on a old thread.
The scenario is that i have joined a list recently and would like to reply
to an old thread wherein, i do not have any mail to reply in my inbox.
can i send a mail with a thread-id (visible on the archive) or do i have to
sync the mailbox or something.

thanks,
deepak

If you can manually set the References header to the Message-Id of the
old emails, it should get threaded correctly.

Usually you can't since it's a mailing list not a forum. If you weren't
part of the conversation then best bet is to just duplicate the "re: "
header.
