Splitting app, config and data

Hi,
I've recently built a small support system using Lamson and one
of the things I'm not totally sure of is how to split the data, app and
the config.

All the stuff we deploy has the config controlled in a private
repository. I want to put the lamson settings.py file there. This I can
manage by putting the actual file there and using symlinks or something
inside the deployement directory.

All the email spools need to go into a partition other than the
one where the app code will be. Right now, the "run" directory is under
the main app directory and I don't want this area to be writable.

How do I manage this. Is there something like a "spool_dir"
setting in the config file which I can use?

Thanks.
