Maybe it will be more popular if it's a Google Group?

Or if it's advertised a bit. It isn't mentioned anywhere, except for
that unofficial wiki, as far as I know. I had to use google to find
it.

And forums aren't last decade? Last century, I would say! :)
It's because they're push that I prefer mailing lists, or RSS/Atom feeds.
Can't be bothered going to a forum regularly, just to see if there's any
new interesting posts.

What if they were one and the same? Categories matter so little in
Vanilla that the two could probably be synced up. Foolish idea or
legitimate lightbulb?

Promote the mailing list more than usual, and put it at Google Groups. Let's
see what happens :).

We will not be using Google Groups, the amount of spam and general
lack of good management by Google makes it unbearable. For example,
jQuery has completely abandoned it in favor of a forum, see
http://groups.google.com/group/jquery-ui/browse_thread/thread/fc6811f14928aa91#
and http://ejohn.org/blog/google-groups-is-dead/ for references.

This mailing list is fine, people just don't use it, simple as that.

Can someone report how many members are on this mailing list? I think it may
help people wanting to use the mailing list to know how (relatively) big the
audience is.

They might be able to give that information at meta@librelist.com,
it's a mailing list about these mailing lists.

Looking at http://librelist.com/browser/kohana/ shows 18 messages total
since Dec 2009. I only see 2 that have any useful content. I suggest the
experiment has failed an the Unofficial wiki be edited to remove it.

I always wondered, why this list is so inactive.
I asked few questions long ago. But no answer from anybody.
I like lists a lot. But if any official list is inactive like dead, what'd
you do?
IRC, Forum and LIST. All 3 are different type of platform. All three should
be active. I dont know if kohana has IRC. But if it has, some people should
keep it all the time.
You cant keep something dead inactive say people to join in your website.

However, based on the conversation seen here, it seems that if a question is
asked on the mailing list it wouldn't be void of attention.
