I'm a mutt user who doesn't use the patches. My preference would be to take
the newer upstream version even if the patches don't yet work. People who
must have the patches can wait to update, and those of us who use the
vanilla version can use the newer version (which I believe has a lot of
bugfixes and which came out in September of 2010).
Having said that, the conversation here suggests that there already *are*
up-to-date versions of the patches people tend to want most (sidebar and
trash): https://github.com/mxcl/homebrew/pull/3350
Anyhow, as one mutt user, I would love to see the latest version in
Homebrew. (Which reminds me, we're a handful of releases behind on Getmail
- I need to write up a pull request for that...)
Thanks, Peter

Agreed. Though personally I find it pretty easy to pull the current
mutt from mercurial and just build it myself. Obviously this could be
done easily with homebrew. And probably should be done.

Pushed 1.5.21 with updated patches for the 2 we include. Any other
mutt issues were closed; if those patches are wanted please
rebase/redo against 1.5.21. Thanks!
