Hello, Just wanted to ask if there were anything I can do to help with the increase in pulls, and help out as best as I can? I'm not completely fluent, in CLI, but have gained some experience over the years with Arch Linux and now OS X for the bast five months. Still, I have still to master any skills. Have been thinking several times to send this email, but it's not until now I finally came around to finally do it. If not, I'm happy to help with the small effort I can. Thank you for Homebrew! -- Birger J. Nordølum Sent with Sparrow
Thanks Birger, From what I can tell we do need another collaborator. But really it's up to AdamV to pick people as he's most familiar with stuff right now. There's a lot of trust placed in the project, and approving patches requires us to be careful with new recruits. Max On Wednesday, 25 May 2011 at 21:06, Birger J. How to test submissions: Grab some commits and try to compile them; if they don't work, gist the build output and link to it in the Issue. If they work, leave a comment saying "compilation worked for me." Be sure to "brew audit" after pulling commits to make sure they follow Homebrew style. Always build with "brew install -v" and double-check the output for dependencies that were missing. Lots of things fail to include "depends_on 'pkg-config' => :build" for instance. Hello again, Just received my MacBook Pro from service. Needed to change my whole screen :/ I'll try to go through some of the formulae starting with the oldest ones. Maybe check for upstream updates, etc. To make sure all are up to date. And will include a compile:status message. -- Birger J.
