I have a new MacBook Air Lion (it's nice!) that I would like to have my brew-installed libraries on. The machine I currently use is running 10.6. I'm travelling and my Internet usage is measured, slow, and not inexpensive. So, I'd like to avoid having to redownload as much as possible. But, that may be moot as I'll need Xcode and the few packages I have are pretty small compared to that. What are my options? Do I have to recompile every package for 10.7? Or are there some packages that I could rsync between machines? Can anyone report their experience with Homebrew on Lion? I've seen some reports <http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/.../t-1209305.html>of Xcode issues with 10.7, for example. I definitely recompiled a couple, but I don't remember if I was forced to or if I was just upgrading. Regardless, I did need to install Xcode 4. While my old Xcode install was still on my hard drive, I seem to remember the Lion installer moved some things around which disabled Xcode 3. Regardless, I upgrade to Xcode 4. And I think you should probably plan on that - I don't think Xcode 3 is supported on Lion.

After you get Xcode (almost 3 GB!), the bandwidth required is minimal. > Can anyone report their experience with Homebrew on Lion? A local library could also be a possibility. Good luck Paul
