OpenSearch on GeoNode?

OpenSearch on GeoNode?

Was talking today about interoperability with GeoCommons/GeoIQ, and one
thing they use for lots of federated search is OpenSearch.

Realized that we may get it 'for free' with GeoNetwork.

Looked in to it and looks like we're close:

http://demo.geonode.org/geonetwork/srv/en/portal.opensearch

The only major problem is it refers to localhost instead of the web
location. I guess that's something that has to be configured in GeoNetwork?

And then it's generic metadata that could be better configured.

Would be nice to have it configured somehow automatically out of the box, or
at least include configuration instructions in the set up.

Yes apparently that does need to be configured in GeoNetwork (the opensearch
profile you linked to is correct now). I'll update the docs with this info
when I write up the stability stuff, should be pretty straightforward.
