Two questions about data in GeoNode

Two questions about data in GeoNode

I'm just getting started with GeoNode and haven't found answers to a couple
of questions that are crucial to our potential use case. First, will GeoNode
"work" with data loaded into GeoServer via means other than the GeoNode
interface? Second, GeoServer supports non-georeferenced data like MrSID
images. Assuming the answer to my first question is "yes", will GeoNode
support non-georeferenced, Geoserver-compatible data?

Thanks in advance for any assistance with these questions.

Harrison

GeoNode's own upload form currently only handles Shapefiles and GeoTIFF
files. However, there is a script included with GeoNode which will allow
you to import all layers in GeoServer (regardless of their origin) into
GeoNode so that you can use GeoNode's security/styling/etc features with it.

This should work for non-georeferenced datasources as well, to an extent.
But GeoNode currently expects to be able to overlay layers on a world-wide
base map, so you may have some visual artifacts, see nonsensical download
links, etc. if you have data without a geometry in your geoserver.
