Have you configured the GEONODE_BASE_URL setting in Geoserver? If you
have, can you check it is looking for the right port?

Deavi, in about an hour most of the GeoNode devs will log in the #geonode channel in IRC. I suggest you log in there and bring up the issue. If the GEONODE_BASE_URL setting is correct then the next place to look at is the WSGI configuration. Specifically the `WSGIPassAuthorization On` param. After that, can you answer this set of questions: - What url did you set for GeoServer in local_settings.py? - Have you tried to run the same configuration but using port 80? HI Ariel,
The WSGIPassAuthorization is already on. This is what I have in the
geonode.wsgi:
ProxyPass /geoserver-geonode-dev/
http://localhost:8080/geoserver-geonode-dev/
ProxyPassReverse /geoserver-geonode-dev/
http://localhost:8080/geoserver-geonode-dev/
ProxyPass /geonetwork/ http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/
ProxyPassReverse /geonetwork/ http://localhost:8080/geonetwork/
WSGIScriptAlias / /apps/geonode/geonode.wsgi
WSGIProcessGroup geonode
WSGIDaemonProcess geonode
python-path=/usr/local/src/geonode/GeoNode-1.0-RC2/lib/python2.6/site-pa
ckages
WSGIPassAuthorization On
And this is the Geoserver URL in the local_setting.py:
GEOSERVER_BASE_URL =
http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au/geoserver-geonode-dev/
I have also tried to change the port to port 80 but it caused conflict
(apache is using port 80 to redirect requests). I have applied for an
additional port 8001 to see this will work.

Hi David,
Thank you for your suggestion. I will try it on monday.
Just for your information, I was not trying to use https for the
webserver. The server that I am using for this is under the control of our
sysadmin. I have only 3 ports open for this particular server (80, 8080
and 443) and it is not easy to get another port open without causing long
discussions. I used the 80 and 8080 so 443 is the only one that I can use
for the time being. I will try to get another port open.
Regards, Dv

param.
After that, can you answer this set of questions:
- What url did you set for GeoServer in local_settings.py?
- Have you tried to run the same configuration but using port 80?
(Running it in https / 443 should not be a problem but it is better to be
safe than sorry)
Best,
Ariel.

HI Ariel,
Thank you for your suggestion. Yes I did. This is the setting:
<context-param>
<param-name>GEONODE_BASE_URL</param-name>
<param-value>http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/</param-value>
</context-param>

Have you configured the GEONODE_BASE_URL setting in Geoserver? If you
have, can you check it is looking for the right port?

Hi Geonode,
I have been trying to install Geonode and managed to install most of
the component (I think). This is the geonode
website:http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/. It seems to be working
apart from a number of things. One of them is I keep getting an issue when
I go into the MAPS. The error stated "the server returned an error". I
investigated the issue and it seems that the issue is that when the maps
was open a request was sent to Geoserver by geonode via proxy:
<http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/proxy/?url=http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au/geoserver-geonode-dev/wms?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities>
http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/proxy/?url=http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au/geoserver-geonode-dev/wms?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities
<
<http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/proxy/?url=http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au/geoserver-geonode-dev/wms?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities>
http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au:443/proxy/?url=http://beta-u.landgate.wa.gov.au/geoserver-geonode-dev/wms?SERVICE=WMS&REQUEST=GetCapabilities>
. When I try to run the request, I get back the following error message:
"Error connecting to GeoNode authentication server: Read timed out".
I tried to see what cause this by looking into the code and tried a
number of things to resolve the problem myself but none of them works.
Could someone please help me?
Thank you.
Regards, Dv
