Dedicated development mailing list

As we approach 1.0, we need to start preparing to support GeoNode users on
the web.

A first step towards that is having a dedicated Users list--for discussion
for those interested in using the software--that is free from the heavy and
low-level discussion by the developers.

Rather than asking the users who are already subscribed to this list to
move, I have made a separate list for GeoNode developers and those
interested in following development:

geonode-dev@opengeo.org
https://groups.google.com/a/opengeo.org/group/geonode-dev/

It is a public list; anyone can join and view the archives. I've used
opengeo's Google Apps account because it makes it easy to host the list. If
we get a good mailing list solution for the geonode.org domain, we can move
to that later.

I've invited all the OpenGeo developers and Ariel, and invite anyone else
interested in developing to join it as well. If the community finds good
reason to object to this mailing list change, we can go for an alternative.
But for the purpose of expediency (for "internal" OpenGeo reasons of
organizing our work around the project) I've taken the liberty of setting up
the new list for us.

Questions, comments, concerns welcome.

I should add: to make sure that everyone has time to register for the new
list (and since librelist has poor support for cc'ing), I propose we make
this switch officially on Monday, September 20th.
